Md. Nahid Hasan is a Lecturer in the Department of Irrigation and Water Management at Sylhet Agricultural University, Sylhet, Bangladesh. He is a dedicated and academically strong educator with expertise in delivering engaging lectures, guiding student research, developing effective course materials, and applying modern teaching and assessment strategies. He holds a Master of Science in Irrigation and Water Management from Sylhet Agricultural University, completed in 2023, and a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Engineering and Technology from the same university, completed in 2020. He has maintained a strong academic and research profile. His research interests focus on sustainable water resource utilization and the assessment of Climate Information Services (CIS). His research experience includes water resource management, climate information services, environmental investigation, statistical and analytical data interpretation, and the application of geospatial technologies in environmental and water-related studies. Mr. Hasan served as a Research Assistant under the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research, Netherlands, from September 2021 to August 2022, where he contributed to the project “Upscaled WATERAPPS Information Services for Sustainable Food Production in Peri-Urban Delta Areas in Bangladesh.” He received practical training in mushroom cultivation at the Youth Training Centre, Sylhet, where he developed skills in substrate preparation, spawning, bag preparation, growth management, and harvesting of oyster mushrooms. He also completed a Training Workshop on the Application of Remote Sensing and GIS at Sylhet Agricultural University, gaining practical expertise in the use of remote sensing data and GIS tools for mapping, spatial analysis, and environmental monitoring. His professional skills include project coordination and execution, statistical and analytical data interpretation, remote sensing techniques, geospatial mapping and analysis, computer applications, and environmental study and investigation. As an educator and researcher, Mr. Hasan is passionate about fostering student learning, promoting academic excellence, and contributing to sustainable solutions for water resource and climate-related challenges in Bangladesh. His academic and professional work reflects a multidisciplinary approach that integrates water resources, climate information, environmental assessment, remote sensing, and GIS to support sustainable development and evidence-based decision-making.
