Mr. Aminur Rashid is a young aquaculturist and academician, was born in 1989, in the Sylhet district of Bangladesh. He has obtained B.Sc. Fisheries (Hons.) in 2011 and MS in aquaculture in 2013 from the Sylhet Agricultural University, Bangladesh. In 2016, he was awarded the Belgian government scholarship VLIR-UOS and successfully completed the second MSc in Aquaculture from Ghent University, Belgium. During his study, he has the opportunity to do an internship on Shrimp (L. vannamei) farming in Cienfuegos, Cuba. Besides this, he worked as a research fellow at the INDO-BELSPO project at the Center for Science Education and Research at Nitte University, India. He attended several field training programs on aquatic animal farming (e.g. Salmon, Sea bass, Trout, Shrimp, Mussel, and Oyster, etc.), aquatic animal health management, shellfish culture at different farms and hatcheries in Ireland. Mr. Rashid is a very enthusiastic and passionate early-stage researcher who has authored or co-authored several peer-reviewed scientific articles. The professional motto of Mr. Rashid’s is “Remove hunger through Aquaculture”. At present, he is working as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Aquaculture in Sylhet Agricultural University, Bangladesh.
