I am extremely proud of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University for its outstanding role of contribution in Agricultural development of Bangladesh. The University has the pride of being inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Undivided Bengal, Sher-e-Bangla A. K. Fazlul Huq in the year 1938. Since its establishment as the first Agricultural Institute of the country, it is playing significant role amongst the Agricultural Universities of Bangladesh for the last seven decades. The University is continuously engaged in the pursuit of excellence in higher education, research and extension education. The University is now offering graduate level courses in the faculties of Agriculture and Agribusiness Management as well as post-graduate courses in ten departments keeping in tune with the needs of the ever expanding rural population. Being a center for higher learning, the University has placed research activities high on its academic agenda. Graduates of this University have been playing a pioneering role in the development of Agricultural sub-system and agro-based economy of the country through participation in various national and international services.
