Past Research Activities :
- Worked as a coinvestigator in 1975 in a BAU research project entitled," A study on the groundwater reserve and of depletion in Mymensingh district".
- Worked as a co investigator in 1975 1976 in a BAU research project entitled "An appraisal of groundwater conditions in Dinajpur district".
- Worked as a coinvestigator in 1978 in a jointly spon-sored BAUBINA project entitled, "Judicious irrigation for maximization of crop yields (wheat) in the North Western part of Bangladesh".
- Worked as a principal investigator in 1987 in a BARC sponsored coordinated research project entitled, "Farming systems research and development programme Water management component".
- Worked as a principal investigator in a BARC sponsored coordinated research project, "Recharge and depletion characteristics and irrigation water quality of Muktagacha aquifer" from April 1986 to March 1990.
- Worked as a principal investigator in a BARC sponsored coordinated research project entitled, "Farming systems research and development programWater Management Component" from 1985 to 1989.
- Worked as a principal investigator in a Ford Foundation sponsored coordinated research project entitled, "Farming systems and Environmental Studies (FSES) Agricultural Engineering Component" (from 1990 to 1999).
- Worked as a principal investigator in a World Bank sponsored coordinated research project entitled, "Studies on Integrated Farming (SIF) Agricultural Engineering Component" (from 2000 to 2002).
- Worked as a principal investigator in Bangladesh Agricultural University Research Systems (BAURES) sponsored research project entitled, "Response of maize to water stress" (from 09.1998 to 31.08.2001).
- Worked as a principal investigator in Bangladesh Agricultural University Research Systems (BAURES) sponsored research project entitled, "Maximizing the productivity of shallow tubewell by upgrading the management practices" (from 01.07.2002 to 30.06.2005).
- Worked as a principal investigator in Bangladesh Agricultural University Research Systems (BAURES) sponsored research project entitled, "Response of Mungbean to Water Stress" (01.01.2006 to 31.12.2007).
Current Research Activities :
- Working as a principal investigator in Bangladesh Agricultural University Research Systems (BAURES) sponsored research project entitled, "Deficit Irrigation for Maize Production" (starting from 01.07.2008 to date).
Incountry Training :
- Participated in a 5day short course on "Systems approach to water resources planning and management" at BAU, Mymensingh in May 1986.
- Participated in a 7day short course on "Technology assessment and technology diffusion" at BUET, Dhaka in April 1988.
Offcountry Training :
- Completed a oneyear training program on "Irrigation and water management" beginning January 1, 1980 at the Hydro-technical Laboratory of the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University, Copenhagen, Denmark.
- Visited the "Farming System Research Sites in Thailand for 6 days from 27.1.91 to 1.2.91 funded by Ford Foundation, Dhaka and gathered knowledge and experience on field level activities on Farming Systems.
- Visited the Institute for Landtechnique, University Boon, Germany as a Visiting Professor for a period of 2 months and 20 days from 1.10.1996 to 20.12.1996 under DAAD (German Academic Exchange Programme) Fellowship Programme and worked with Professor Dr. Ing.K.H.Kromer, Director of the Institute on controlling soil erosion due to runoff using `Rainfall Simulator' as well as delivered a seminar in the University on "Irrigation Development in Bangladesh".
Onference/Seminar/Workshop :
- Attended the International Conference on Agricultural Engineering and AgroIndustries in Asia to present a paper, which was held at AIT, Bangkok, Thailand from 1013 November, 1981.
- Attended the short course on Systems Approach to Water Resources Planning and Management to present a paper sponsored by BAUBARC which was held from 2731 May, 1986 at BAU, Mymensingh.
- Attended the Workshop on "Inter-University Collaboration in Gender Mainstreaming in Agriculture" for 15 days from 1-14 April, 1991 at Wageningen Agricultural University, The Netherlands and gathered knowledge and experience on Gender Issues related to Irrigation and Water Management.
