Ms. Dilruba Afrin was born in Bogura, Bangladesh, to Late. Delwar Hossain and Shefaly Begum. She was the first of the two daughters born to the couple. She passed both the SSC and the HSC exam from Bogura Cantonment Public School and College, also earned her both bachelor's and master in Genetic Engineering & Biotechnology from the University of Rajshahi. She has cultivated strong interest towards the field of Aquatic Biotechnology. Her current research focuses on molecular characterization of aquatic animal diseases. Ms. Dilruba joined the faculty of the Animal & Fish Biotechnology department at Sylhet Agricultural University in 2016.
