Dr. Kazi Mohammad Ali Zinnah was born in 1990 in Jhenaidah, Bangladesh. He commenced his university studies at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, obtaining his BSc in 2009 followed by his MSc in 2011. His interest for knowledge led him to pursue further studies, culminating in a PhD and Postdoctoral research at Jeonbuk National University in 2020 and 2021, respectively. During his doctoral and postdoctoral tenure, Dr. Zinnah dedicated himself to exploring the anticancer effects of various drugs, focusing on apoptosis and autophagy signaling pathways. Subsequently, he secured funding for projects aimed at applying his expertise in cellular and molecular biology to develop measures against vector-borne diseases caused by Ades sp, Culex sp, and Anopheles sp. Additionally, he endeavors to contribute to the aquatic sector by researching and cultivating optimal probiotic strains as alternatives to antibiotics. Dr. Zinnah's contributions extend beyond the laboratory. He serves as a peer reviewer for esteemed journals such as the International Journal of Molecular Medicine, International Journal of Oncology, Oncology Reports, and Discover Oncology. His scholarly achievements have been recognized with the Best Publication Award from the Sylhet Agricultural University Teachers’ Council in 2020, 2024, and from the Lecture and Assistant Professor Society in 2023. Apart from his academic pursuits, Dr. Zinnah plays advisory roles in various academic and non-academic organizations. Presently, he holds the position of Associate Professor and Chairman of the Department of Animal and Fish Biotechnology, as well as Chairman (In-charge) of the Department of Microbial Biotechnology. He also serves as the Assistant Provost of Shahparan Hall at Sylhet Agricultural University and holds the position of Joint Secretary of the Sylhet Agricultural University Teachers Council for the year 2024.
