Biography

I have been working as an Associate Professor at the Department of Agricultural Construction and Environmental Engineering (ACEE), Sylhet Agricultural University, Bangladesh. I obtained my first degree in Agricultural Engineering and Technology in 2007 and a Master’s degree in Farm Structure and Environmental Engineering in 2009 from Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh-2202. I also completed a Ph.D. degree in Smart Water Resources and Environmental Engineering from Yeungnam University, South Korea. I started my research in 2006 and I have since published 21 peer-reviewed articles with good impact factors. I am very much interested in wastewater treatment particularly remediation/degradation of residual antibiotics, industrial dyes, microplastics, and multidrug-resistant (MDR) bacteria in wastewater bodies using advanced cutting-edge approaches such as nanotechnology, ultrafiltration membrane, and photosensitizing green materials. I applied these techniques to overcome water-related problems at Yeungnam University, South Korea. I recently published three articles in a highly cited and recognized journal (Chemosphere and Environmental Pollution) about MDR bacteria remediation and residual antibiotic degradation. I can smoothly handle how to synthesize nanomaterials, characterize them, and applied in wastewater treatment processes. Moreover, I am experienced with membrane fabrication, characterization, and evaluation in wastewater treatment processes. I have gained knowledge of nanomaterial characterization techniques: X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), scanning electron microscope (SEM), transmission electron microscope (TEM), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), Raman, Photoluminescence spectroscopy (PL), Thermogravimetry Differential Thermal Analysis (TG DTA), etc. I am very much interested in advanced bacterial morphology imaging using scanning electron microscope (SEM), and transmission electron microscope (TEM) techniques. I have completed four University Grant Commission (UGC) projects and supervised four master's students. My research findings have been presented at several national and international scientific seminars/conferences. Currently, I am serving as a reviewer for several peer-reviewed journals.
