Biography

Mr. Mohammed Ariful Islam is a very enthusiastic and passionate researcher as well as an academician. He received his Bachelor of Science in Fisheries (Honours) and Master of Science in Aquatic Resource Management from Sylhet Agricultural University (SAU), Sylhet, Bangladesh in 2012 and 2014, respectively. After two months career at WorldFish, Bangladesh, he joined as a Lecturer in the Department of Aquatic Resource Management at SAU on 22 October 2013. He has completed his second Joint Master’s Degree from the University of Bologna, Italy and University of Cadiz, Spain in 2018 through Erasmus Mundus Scholarship program. He did his last Masters research in ICMAN-CSIC, Spain and already published several research articles in different national and international journals. Mr. Islam received various prestigious awards like Chancellor Gold Medal’13, Best Publication award’18, Best Presentation Award’19, etc. He also attended in different national and international training, seminars, and conferences. He is a member of Bangladesh Agriculturist Institution and Bangladesh Fisheries Research Forum. His current research interest includes aquatic ecology (abiotic and biotic stresses) and his primary aim is to became specialist on that field and train the young colleagues and students. Currently he has been working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Aquatic Resource Management, Sylhet Agricultural University, Bangladesh.
