| Department of Biotechnology is one of the most important academic departments of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University. This department was established at Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University in 2005 due to the rising importance of biotechnology in agriculture. Within this short span of time the department has successfully developed a lab well equipped with modern tissue culture facilities, analytical instruments and computers. The department offers undergraduate courses through a comprehensive curriculum which equips students with theoretical knowledge and practical skills in different biotechnological disciplines. Research and educational activities already been initiated in the department are mainly directed towards plant tissue culture, molecular characterization and genetic engineering. Department of Biotechnology commits to the highest standard of excellence in teaching and research for developing entrepreneurial skills and thus it will introduce post gradate studies in near future. |
